November Newsletter

It is hard to believe the Holidays are upon us.  Seems like just a few short months ago since the 2011 Winter Classic and here it is almost time for it again.  We still have tickets available for this event and if you have not yet got your tickets please contact me or click on the Winter Classic Link for information and to get signed up.

Our Halloween Party was a blast, be sure to go our Halloween Party tab above and then click on the Facebook to see all of the pictures.  See if you can tell who is who in costume. There were a lot of really good ones. Bobby Trussel as Col Sanders won 1^st Place, Ron & Vicki Bruno as Cleopatra & Mark Anthony won 2^nd Place and John & Darla Floyd won 3^rd Place for their great Pirate costumes.  As always, John Smith played great shag music for us to dance to. The Country Club of Hilton Head put on a great event for us.  The food and service was superb.  I hope we have more parties there in the future. 

On November 16^th , at Remy’s Bar and Grill, PEP is having their annual party for all of their clients, supporters & staff and this includes the HHI Shag Club as we are supporters.  Target the Band will be playing from 7:00 to 10:00.  There will be a Thanksgiving Dinner Buffet at 6:30 for $15 and special drink prices. Come on out and enjoy the evening with us.

November 22^nd will conclude our lessons for the remainder of this year while we all enjoy the Holidays.  We will still have our social dance night at Remy’s every Friday night. Lessons will begin again on Tuesday January 10, 2012  so watch for an e-blast in December to sign up.

We will have our shag club Christmas Party at Remy’s with a great Christmas Dinner Buffet for $16 per person on Tuesday Dec 6^th and dancing from 6:00 to 10:00. We will not need to pre-register for this event as we will pay for our own that evening but we will ask for an RSVP so they will know how much food to prepare.  Please mark your calendars for this event and be sure to RSVP when we send out the E-Blast to do so.  

Friday November 11^th we will celebrate the November birthdays with a cake.  I am looking for a volunteer to order and pick up the cake and help serve it.  Please contact me if you would like to volunteer.  Come on out and help us celebrate the November Birthdays!!!!

I sent out an E-Blast announcing the Board of Directors Meeting November 8^th prior to lessons at Remy’s but I forgot to list the time. The meeting will be at 5:00 PM on the upper deck at Remy’s.  We encourage all members to attend and engage in the open discussion part of this meeting with any comments or suggestions for our club.

Please remember to bring your can goods each week to Remy’s for the various food banks they are collecting for.  It is important for us to remember the less fortunate and under-privileged this time of the year. You may drop them in the bin just inside the front door.
